Optiem

You have arrived to the homepage of OPTIEM, the students of Industrial Engineering and Management. Optiem was founded in 1991, and is one of the guilds ( or student clubs) in the Oulu University under the Faculty of Technology. Optiem is also a local group of ESTIEM, the organization of European Students of Industrial Engineering and Management.

The guild is run by executive committee with the help of a few officials. Optiem is the uniting force of IEM students here in Oulu. We offer our members many different activities, such as sports, excursions around the country, and of course parties, which often involve sauna. Optiem has also its own 'lair' in the campus bomb shelter. We gather there between lectures, and it works as the meeting place of our Board. Basically it is the centre of our breething and life.
